Musician, artist and writer
Natalie Flowers bested her conservative family beginnings by earning a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Texas. During 25 years on the road as a musical Vagabond and a woman of letters, she has produced eleven recordings and one book, 27 Stories. Flowers is an essential designer; she takes whatever finds its way into her path and reveals its beauty. She is both the writer and the trickster, laughing at her attempts at mastery while taking into account the work it takes to get there.
Natalie has been recording music since 1989 and has released 11
collections of music and three singles. In order, the titles are:
Natalia/Visions, Yellow Flowers, Pieces, Shades of Tangerine, Blessing
Indie Skies, Naked in a Doorway, Simple/Perfect, Out Side In, The Pearl,
House Full of Pictures, and Un-Woven. The singles are: "Vision Bird",
"A Hug from the Divine", and "The 25th Pauri", a chant for those who
practice Kundalini Yoga.
She has released two books of true short stories and is currently working on a third.
She is a shameless self-publisher, hilarious, compassionate, supremely creative and fearless.
Once,
after listening to her sing, a friend stated that it was possible while
listening to her to see hallucinogenic visions of the Virgin Mary.
The truth about Natalie's music is this: you should bring your yoga mat and some tissues, because you are going to cry a little and then you are going to need a nap.
How else can music that borders between deep emotional healing and palliative care be described to a larger audience?
Although her friends say that she can do anything, Natalie cannot
yet weld, hang sheetrock, or do plumbing or electrical work. She
remains true to pen and paper, still writes real letters, loves dogs and
cats, nature, organic food and fabric, entrepreneurial business, fine
art in multiple media, and barefoot Ashiatsu massage.
Her vision is to touch the world with word and sound, creating an endless arc of vibration so beautiful that it lifts this planet and all of the people on it from darkness into light.
